Favourite Books Read in 2009
I keep a list of all the books I read each year. The rule is that I have to finish the book for it to make the list. Partially read books can't go on the official list but get relegated to the less-impressive "Partially Read" list.
Here are some favourites from the 2009 (official) list:
Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin, Three Cups of Tea
Miriam Toews, The Flying Troutman
Michael Winter, This All Happened
Pasha Malla, The Withdrawal Method
Lisa Moore, February
Curtis Sittenfeld, American Wife
Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Zoe Whittall, Holding Still for As Long As Possible
Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife
Nicole Krauss, The History of Love
Jessica Grant, Come, Thou Tortoise
Kathryn Borel Jr., Corked: A Memoir
Kevin Zraly, Windows on the World: Complete Wine Course
The last book isn't a literary book; it's a course book on wine. Some of my reading time previously dedicated to fiction has been allocated to reading about wine of late, and these days I'm more often blogging over at girl on wine.
