Sybil Unrest
To add to the list of books to read in 2009: Sybil Unrest, co-authored by Larissa Lai and Rita Wong. Interesting review here.
I wrote my MA essay about Larissa Lai's last novel, Salt Fish Girl. Consequentially, I've probably combed through those words of hers more than that of any other text. So it's been a couple of years and I'm excited to read her words again.

hi Lesley, i am a friend of your moms and she was telling me about the books she was taking away on her trip with her...she mentioned AMERICAN WIFE which I loved and also wanted to recommend MAN OF MY DREAMS by the same author. I probably never would have picked up these books but the author (female called Curtis?) is wonderful.thanks for the book suggestions, will follow up and ...enjoy your blog.
Have you read Sybil Unrest yet? I thought it was fantastic. Funny, biting, political, meaty. LINEbooks is a really great press. Larissa has another book of poetry coming out in the fall; I forget which press.
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
